"I'm compelled to document the beautifully imperfect."

I attended the U of M to study journalism and graduated in 2008. I held various editorial internships and also enjoyed a retail adventure for about three years post-graduation. After getting married and having our first daughter in 2011, I decided to stay home with her. My life's pace, focus, and direction shifted. I took photos with my iPhone and started a blog documenting the big and small moments with our little family. In 2012 I bought my first real camera and took it everywhere, taking pictures of everything. Friends began asking me to take photos of their own families and the referrals kept increasing. Now I take on more than 100 clients each year. Many are lovely folks needing family and milestone pictures, some couples getting engaged and married, some are professionals needing headshots and branding images, and some are bold and beautiful women seeking an empowering boudoir session. I bring positive energy and creativity to every shoot with the goal of making the entire experience fun and easy for my clients. I lean toward capturing candid moments but I'm sure to get those posed shots that I know are also important.

When I'm not shooting and editing, you can find me hanging out at my house with my husband, dog, and four kids. I also enjoy Crossfit, playing piano, cooking, and reading a good book (not all at the same time though). My favorite thing in the world is good conversation over delicious food and drinks with great company.

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
